The Portwest A784 is a fine-knit arc-flash handling glove for work where precise finger movement remains important. Its 18-gauge aramid-based liner combines Cut C resistance with a flexible feel, and the flame-resistant neoprene palm helps maintain grip on parts and tools.
The manufacturer specifies a 12 cal/cm² arc rating. This describes performance against the thermal effects of an arc event and must be matched to the assessed exposure and the rest of the protective equipment used for the task.
Construction and performance
- 18-gauge liner for dexterity during detailed handling.
- Flame-resistant neoprene coating across the palm.
- EN 388 Cut C performance, abrasion level 3 and tear level 4.
- EN 407 contact-heat level 1.
- EN ISO 21420 dexterity level 5.
- Green and black; supplied as one pair.
Arc protection and selection
These gloves do not provide insulation against electric shock. Select them for the specific arc-heat and handling hazards identified in the work assessment; electrical contact hazards require appropriate insulating protection.
